There is a huge difference between the poker tournaments and the cash games. With the poker tournaments, you would be given only a certain amount of chips and once you are out of your chips, you would be eliminated from the table. However in cash games, you can certainly re-buy as often as you like. A lot of beginners do not seem to understand this difference and hence end up losing the tournaments. It would be ideal to watch a few before actually getting started into the competition. Personally I think Poker Online Tournaments are the most fun, easy to attend to easy pay-outs. With the glitz and the glamour attached to these tournaments, it would be lucrative for a lot of players to be a part of it.

Razz and split-pot hi-lo games such as Omaha hi-lo are played for low and in these games, the winnings are paid to the best low hand. For the most part poker games played for low do not consider straights and flushes against you. In such games, Ace-2-3-4-5 is the best low hand and is called ‘the wheel’ or the ‘bike’. The next best low hand is from 2-7 (deuce to seven). Several other combinations other than the standard royal cards could still have chances at the pot.
